For those who haven't heard of it yet, Lebanese hummus has become super popular food in Europe over the past few years. And it's no accident that everyone loves this tasty chickpea puree. We prepare the traditional hummus recipe especially as an exotic dip to enrich the taste of its pita bread, raw vegetables or chips. In fact, it can be combined with several different foods. Today we will introduce you to the classic version in a few easy steps that you should definitely try out at home!
Traditional hummus recipe to spread or to eat directly with a spoon

Generally, for the basic traditional hummus recipe you need chickpeas. So if you only have dried chickpeas, you need to soak them in cold water overnight. You will also need garlic, olive oil, lemon juice or lemon zest, salt. The last very important ingredient is tahini, usually made from crushed sesame seeds and a little water. As for this smooth and absolutely tasty dough, you can buy it or make it yourself.

Ingredients:
- 1 can of chickpeas
- ½ tsp. baking soda
- 1 cup of cold water (or just enough to cover the chickpeas)
- 100 gr of Tahini
- 3-4 cloves of garlic
- juice of one or two lemon (s)
- 1-2 tsp. tablespoon olive oil
- ½ tsp. 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- ½ tsp. salt
Preparation:

1. Drain the chickpeas.

2. In a medium saucepan, pour cold water.

3. Add the baking soda to it.

4. Once the chickpeas have drained well, place them in the pot.

3. Cover and bring to a boil for 20 minutes.

4. Meanwhile, in the bowl of your blender, combine the lemon juice and salt.

5. Add the Tahini and two tablespoons of cold water. Mix to obtain a creamy mixture.

6. Leave everything on for a few minutes.

7. Drain the chickpeas again and add them to the creamy mixture.

8. Season with ground cumin and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil.

9. Mix until the consistency is quite smooth and creamy.

10. Serve your traditional homemade hummus recipe in small ramekins or bowls.
