Video: Dairy Products Against Cardiovascular Risks

Believe it or not, a good number of French and international studies indicate that dairy products are associated with a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease. In fact, the data indicates that dairy products, including those with a higher fat content like different types of cheese, can go a long way in supporting heart health.
Dairy products and cardiovascular risks

And while the opinions of specialists against dairy products are numerous, the latest French studies have something to change the outlook on dairy products in the "land of 300 cheeses". As we are all aware, dairy products are very high in fat and, in particular, in a certain category of lipids called polar and particularly present in sour cream! In animals, there is evidence that polar lipids play an essential role in regulating blood levels.
Regarding the effects of polar lipids on the human organism, INRA scientists wanted to answer this question by focusing on a population particularly vulnerable to cardiovascular risks: overweight people and postmenopausal women. After a month of consuming dairy products more or less rich in polar lipids, scientists have seen a major reduction in cholesterol levels. In other words, these first results may be the start of a new nutritional strategy to reduce cardiovascular risks in exposed populations.
