Just two months after the sad spectacle, which moved the whole world, the diocese of the most visited cathedral in Europe announced that a mass would be held in the axial chapel, with a small number of people, for obvious reasons of security. The first mass at Notre-Dame de Paris will be held on Saturday at the end of the day and will last one hour. About twenty people are planned, including priests and canons of the cathedral. Also for security reasons, the participants in the symbolic mass will all have to wear helmets for the service which will take place, as indicated, in a small chapel spared by the fire and located at the back of the building.

Why exactly the weekend of June 15-16? Indeed, there is nothing trivial about the date chosen. This weekend, it is the feast of the Dedication, a kind of anniversary which marks the consecration of the altar of the cathedral. Regarding the possibility of being able to reopen the square of Notre-Dame, the diocese is still awaiting the response from the civil authorities.
