Light Pollution France: The Dark Night On The Verge Of Disappearing

Light pollution France: ANPCEN is sounding the alarm

Due to the large number of overly lit cities, the National Association for the Protection of the Night Sky and the Environment (ANPCEN) has decided to sound the alarm. According to ANPCEN specialists, LED lighting, which is widely used in homes, devices and car headlights, causes several serious disorders (sleep or vision disorders, disturbance of the biological clock, fatigue). What's more, the amount of artificial light emitted by nighttime street lighting has increased by around 94%, a pretty impressive figure. Consequently, the association counts that it is not at all necessary to light our cities permanently. By adopting good practices to reduce light emissions, the various communities could very easily reduce their bills,between 25% and 75%.
