Today, Deavita.fr is transported to Belgium, and more particularly to the city of Mechelen, to make you discover an architect's house combining practicality and comfort. In addition to benefiting from an interior in minimalist style and traditional materials, House VV is nestled in a forest offering a serene natural landscape and has everything to please! From the red brick facade to the designer furniture through the large windows letting natural light in, the extraordinary building is in full harmony with the surroundings. Focus on the focal points and the peculiarities of this building at first glance simple but very elegant.

When imagining and designing the project, the architects worked with two starting points: simple concept and creative solutions. That is why they opted for a palette of traditional materials. On the one hand, it is the red brick facade bringing to the house an old world charm while being in unison with the contemporary elements of interior design. On the other is the exterior carpentry made from black steel and aluminum enlivened by warm wooden accents namely doors and shutters.

A timeless material par excellence, hand-molded brick offers many shades to adapt to all architectural styles. Used in construction since time immemorial, it can be revisited to meet the challenges of contemporary architecture. Highly prized for its frost resistance and durability, hand-molded brick requires no maintenance and at the same time provides thermal comfort.

As mentioned above, the red brick facade harmonizes perfectly with contemporary elements such as the fascinating glass walls and minimalist decor of the interior. What is more, the wooden shutters give the whole an unparalleled warm touch while contributing to the natural appearance of the building.

Classic and timeless, the L-shaped house plan is one of the most requested and preferred by architects. And with good reason! This model protects one side of the building from the wind and allows the maximum entry of natural light into each room. And this is exactly the case with House VV, which covers an area of 360 m 2. More details in the following paragraphs!
A minimalist interior bathed in natural light

While the brick facade gives House VV a traditional yesteryear charm, it is notably the minimalist style that contributes to the contemporary interior stacking up with the latest trends. The architects have bet on a winning combination which, lately, does not cease to seduce us. These include the wood and white decor tending to create a serene atmosphere where it is good to meet. Favorite color, white brings a refined aspect to the space and goes perfectly with sober furniture. In addition, the cozy living room, shown above, benefits from abundant natural light thanks to the large windows overlooking the forest.

By favoring these large glass wall-type windows, the inhabitants of House VV can easily admire the serene natural landscape inviting to relax. At first glance, the view above the sofa looks like a wall decoration, what do you think?

Yes, glass walls are definitely the key to creating a successful light and airy space. In addition to offering spectacular views of the surrounding landscape, the floor-to-ceiling windows serve as a kind of connection between the interior and the exterior. A pretty bouquet of fresh roses accompanied by greenery refreshes the decor without sacrificing the overall style.

Speaking of traditional constructions, it is essential to mention the fascinating wooden ceiling whose exposed planks energize the decor in an original way while contributing to the natural atmosphere. In contemporary contrast to the red brick facade, this element perfectly complements the minimalist style of the interior.

And before we finish our article, let's take another look at the pretty contemporary contrast that has formed between the brick facade and the minimalist interior bathed in natural light. A bright and airy space where life is good while admiring nature!
