Homemade Apple Cider Vinegar - Recipes, Benefits and Instructions for Use

In almost every home, you can find at least one bottle of apple cider vinegar lying around in one of the kitchen cupboards. Particularly appreciated for its health benefits, this food contains a relatively high level of potassium, which, in turn, is very beneficial for the acid-base balance of the body. Obviously derived from apples, apple cider vinegar is made from fermented apple juice. And it is in particular the fermentation of apples that transforms the juice into alcoholic cider. How exactly does it work? First, the yeast transforms the sugar into alcohol, and then the action of bacteria transforms the alcohol into acetic acid.
We recommend organic, unfiltered and unpasteurized vinegar

When it comes to the best type of apple cider vinegar, we recommend the organic, unfiltered and unpasteurized version. Why ? Such a vinegar retains all its virtues. And if the inscription "with the mother" is present on the bottle, it is even better, because it is in the "mother" that the largest portion of enzymes, minerals and nutrients are found. However, before consuming your homemade vinegar, it must be mixed well. You can also use it for the preparation of several beauty treatments for hair or to eliminate blackheads.
How to prepare apple cider vinegar with a mother?

Before giving you the complete recipe, know that there are two methods for preparing a homemade vinegar:
- from a pre-existing vinegar mother
- from cider only or from cider with the addition of cider vinegar
How do you get a preexisting apple cider vinegar mother? Well it is quite simple. Ask your loved ones or collect yourself using a store-bought bottle (it is very common to find them). Once the mother of vinegar is ready to use, let's move on to preparing your homemade vinegar. First, start by pouring about half a liter of cider into a vinegar bowl. Then add 1/3 of organic cider and carefully place a fragment of mother, recovered from a purchased bottle. To boost fermentation, store in a hot and cold place!

Generally speaking, the formation of the mycodermal veil on the surface of the vinegar will only take a few weeks. Once the process is completed, the vinegar can be either drawn off, by opening the small tap of the vinegar maker, or taken from a container with a plastic ladle (metal utensils are banned). Finally, collect the vinegar and filter it through a paper coffee filter before bottling it. Store at room temperature.
Apple cider vinegar from whole organic apples

Ingredients:
- 8 whole organic apples, cut with the core, seeds and skin
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 6 cups of water
Preparation:
In a bowl, mix the water and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Put the cut apples in a jar or other ceramic container without removing the course, seeds or skin. Avoid plastic. Then add the sugar water to it. Apples should be completely covered. Cover with a muslin well held by an elastic on the edge of the jar. Store in a dark, warm place for a week, watching the color of the preparation. If a white film forms, it's all good. On the other hand, if this film is gray or green in color, the ferment is probably contaminated. It is therefore better to throw it away.

After a week, strain the mash from the liquid using cheesecloth. Let the mixture drain covered with a cloth for at least 8 to 12 hours. Throw or compost the apple pieces. Return the liquid to the bowl and replace the muslin on top. Place the preparation in a dark, warm place for three weeks.
Tip: Homemade apple cider vinegar is not very good for making canned vegetables.
Homemade vinegar and how to get the most from it

At the risk of repeating ourselves, apple cider vinegar is full of virtues, whether in terms of health or beauty. Diluted in water, it is an excellent slimming solution by having a good effect on digestion. It is also intended to be very effective against sunburn as well as against mosquito bites. As for hair care, it can also help you lighten your mane. Note: each time, remember to dilute it in water, because vinegar remains a fermented and acidic product.
