Video: Experimental Treatment Promises To Prevent Colds

The cold will soon arrive to make way for the common cold, a rather unpleasant condition which affects a large number of the French population. Cough, nasal discharge / congestion, fatigue, headaches … we all know the annoying and unsightly symptoms that disturb our daily lives. After catching the virus, there is almost nothing you can do. In this case, we limit contacts as much as possible and we often rely on natural remedies. But a recent study unveiled an experimental treatment that even promises to prevent colds. So, is it really possible? Explanations.
Scientists unveil treatment that could prevent colds

An essential illness of winter, the common cold could soon be prevented. According to scientific research published in the journal Nature Microbiology, the treatment is carried out on the patient, himself, and not on the virus. Scientists have found that the virus causing colds needs a protein, produced in human cells, to multiply.
To reach these conclusions, the researchers genetically modified rodents in order to develop this protein. So it turned out that thanks to this mutation, the mice survived. Scientists explain that the goal is not to genetically transform human beings, but to create a drug that can temporarily "slow down" the production of the protein.
