Video: Waxed Concrete Interior Staircase In A Modern And Smart House

If you have the chance to build your dream home with a view of Sydney Harbor, then you are extremely lucky! Ergonomic and intelligent design, interior open to the Pacific Ocean and garden on several levels which, in turn, connects to an imposing waxed concrete internal staircase … in short, a true paradise on earth designed by the genius Matthew Woodward and his team specialists.
Simple but elegant waxed concrete interior staircase that blends in perfectly with the landscape

The family this home was designed for wanted a functional, bright, state-of-the-art fireplace that blends in with the natural surroundings. The result ? A contemporary family residence of 439 square meters with a view of Sydney Harbor and unmistakably trendy architecture.

Luxury furniture, designer integrated lighting, internal waxed concrete staircase, open spaces enhanced by several sliding picture windows and two panoramic terraces … thanks to all these architectural assets, the dream house not only meets all the daily needs of the family, but also serves as a place of relaxation and leisure.

Initially, the clients wanted to have a modern house that would stand the test of time, which in addition to offering great flexibility in the spatial organization, must also promote potential advances in eclectic, audiovisual and solar technologies. A project that according to Matthew Woodward and his team was incredibly difficult to accomplish, given the nature of old concrete construction.

Numerous diagrams, visual studies and photomontages were made throughout the design and construction process to examine the possible impact of the decisions made. In order to be successful, the designers have been in constant collaboration with the clients, who have taken an active part in the decision-making.

Through careful planning, the dream home benefits from passive solar heating and cooling. A solar panel on the roof helps to significantly offset electricity demands, as rainwater is collected and used throughout the house and around the site.

The painstaking preparation and the close collaboration with the customers have greatly contributed to the creation of a functional, elegant and harmonious house that blends in with nature.

Curved shapes through the waxed concrete interior staircase, waxed brass handrails, natural light filtering through skylights and refined furnishings, the house is completely devoid of distractions in terms of decor. The goal ? Getting in perfect harmony with the nature that surrounds it.
