Why try the casserole bread? Whether it's every day or once a week, baking your own homemade bread is worth it and for several good reasons. First, it is not at all expensive! Then you don't need just a few small ingredients (which you surely have on hand) to enjoy a loaf that looks straight out of the bakery around the corner. So you have everything under control because, as you know, the majority of industrial breads are stuffed with preservatives. But that's not all ! The reason you should definitely go for this experience is the feeling of satisfaction you get from baking your own bread. What's more, its exquisite smell will immerse your kitchen in a bakery atmosphere! Delicious !

Bread casserole - easy as pie and accessible to everyone
The big surprise of our casserole bread recipe is that it doesn't require any special equipment. In other words, there is no need for a bread machine or a mixer on an electric stand! What happiness, right? You just need to bring a simple casserole dish. As for the preparation of the dough, it only takes a few minutes and is intended to be very easy to make each week, unlike other classic bread recipes which require more time. Without further ado, here are the ingredients to get:
- 3 cups of flour
- a little olive oil
- 350 ml of lukewarm water
- 1 C. salt
- 1 C. yeast
Start by pouring the dry ingredients into a container. Mix for a few minutes using a wooden spoon and pour in lukewarm water. Continue to stir carefully until you get a smooth paste. In addition, depending on the type of flour chosen, it is possible that the flour is not enough and that the dough is not completely homogeneous. If this is the case with your preparation, add a little lukewarm water at a time and mix again. If the dough seems a little too runny, don't worry! Just add 1 or 2 tsp. more flour and voila. It's an easy recipe and really flexible at the same time.
Then cover everything with cling film and let stand at room temperature for a few hours (8-24h). It's for you to see. An hour and a half before putting the dough in the casserole, place it on the work surface, lined with baking paper beforehand. Flour your hands and very quickly form a ball by pulling the edges of the dough on top, as you usually do. Let rest again for 30 minutes before sending to the oven. In the meantime, preheat it to 230 ° C and lightly oil the casserole dish. At the end of 30 min, with well floured hands, take the dough and place it inside. Use a small knife to make crosses on the top of your future bread. Put the lid on and bake for half an hour. Then,remove the lid and cook until the bread is visibly golden brown.
Finally, take out the casserole dish using the mittens and tilt it to drop the bread on a board or a kitchen towel. And there you go, your homemade casserole bread is already ready to accompany a thermomix soup, to dip in a sauce or to use to make good, hearty sandwiches.
