Netflix is one of the best known and most preferred streaming platforms by users. Many are the followers of the famous phrase "Netflix and chill" widely used on social networks. It's no secret that sharing Netflix accounts with friends has become a fairly widespread practice. And in this context, an official of the American giant announced that it is looking for a solution in order to put an end to it. Are the measures already taken?

End to Netflix account sharing?

According to the Daily Dot media, the American platform is looking for a solution that will end the sharing of accounts between friends. Greg Peters, one of Netflix's executives, claimed on October 16 that the company has been monitoring this customary practice for some time, but no action has yet been taken.

Based on surveys conducted by Médiamétrie, it turns out that in France, 9 out of 10 subscribers share their Netflix accounts with friends or family members. The company therefore decided to limit either IP addresses or connected devices.

When it comes to Netflix's competitors, these have also been battling account sharing for a long time. Disney +, for example, resorted to limiting the number of associated devices to 10, but had to drop it due to pressure from users.
