Bouquet of edible flowers made from cupcakes
Need an easy and original Mother's Day gift idea? Do not search anymore ! The cupcake bouquet promises to make everyone fall for it! And no, there is nothing rocket science about its making. For those who imagine that this is an impossible mission, remove this idea from your head, because a wooden tray, a styrofoam, a few toothpicks, a few fake leaves and a sprig of patience will do the trick!
- 1 tray / planter / coffee cup
- polystyrene foam
- fake green moss
- fake flowers and leaves
- 1 pair of scissors
- wish card
To make our life easier and save some time, we chose to make our first Mother's Day gift idea using ready-made cupcakes from the local bakery. However, if this is not your first time in the kitchen, you can prepare them yourself. To do this, he concocts several different icings (butter, chocolate and coconut, mascarpone) in order to obtain peach, apricot, coral and melon colors.
After preparing and decorating the cupcakes, place them in the tray, lined with polystyrene and fake green foam beforehand, using toothpicks. Once the edible flowers are fixed, add the fake leaves and voila! Besides, you can replace the wooden top with a porcelain vase. A pretty DIY greeting card will also find its place near the edible bouquet.

- 100 g butter
- 45 g of plain yogurt
- 5 large strawberries, mashed
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. of white vinegar
Ingredients for the buttercream:
- 2 egg whites
- 120 g sugar
- 120 g mashed strawberries
- 200 g of soft butter
- 1 pinch of salt

In the bowl of your food processor, beat the butter and sugar. Add the eggs and mix. Add the flour, strawberry puree and yogurt, mixing well between each addition. Make sure to start and end with the flour mixture. Finally, pour the baking soda into the white vinegar and leave to act for a few seconds before pouring everything into the dough and mixing well. Fill the boxes and put in the oven immediately. Cook for 15-20 minutes.
For the icing, whisk the egg whites, salt and sugar in a double boiler until the preparation reaches 60 ° C. Remove from the heat, continue beating on medium speed for 5 min or until the meringue cools and forms peaks. Whipping at medium speed, add the butter little by little. Take out your pastry bag and fill it with the frosting. Decorate the cupcakes and set them aside at room temperature before proceeding to the assembly of the gourmet bouquet.
Once the cupcakes are coated with icing, cross the center of each box with a toothpick before inserting it into the polystyrene ball, previously lined with felt sheets.
