Once braided, raffia invites itself into a placemat that we personalize and install wherever we want. In this specific case, we decided to hang it on the white wall instead of the frames or pictures. Quick and super easy to do, our first tutorial is also very good for the budget. Here are the materials to get:

Raffia "sun" mirror: how to make it?

After being invented as a storage basket, placemat and lampshade, raffia is gradually starting to give your decorative objects a second youth. Spotted on several shops and sites, the raffia mirror is currently all the rage with fans of the bohemian style who like to tinker. That's why, we decided to share with you the procedure to follow to make it yourself.
Materials to obtain:
- pieces of raffia about 15 cm
- thick cardboard
- 1 round mirror
- jigsaw
- abrasive paper
- adhesive pad for frame
- strong glue
- hot glue
- scissors
- pencil

Start by tracing the outline of the mirror on the thick cardboard before cutting it out with the jigsaw. Then glue the raffia fringes on the outline of the cut cardboard using hot glue. Inside the cardboard backing, apply strong glue and glue the mirror to it. For the glue to set, use stacks of magazines. Finally, opt for a quick-setting glue to stick a frame sticker to the back of the mirror. Once you have mastered the manufacturing method, you can start making several raffia mirrors, each of different size and length.

Follow the same principle to give a second life to your old shopping bag! It's easy !
Another tropical-inspired raffia decoration to hang

Easier to make than the raffia mirror, this next wall decoration guarantees to transform your small room into a small tropical paradise worthy of desire!
Materials needed:
- 1 metal circle / 1 fairly thick wire
- natural raffia
- 1 pair of scissors
If the raffia pieces you bought have wrinkles, dampen them and gently smooth them out before laying them out to dry flat in the sun. Then select two strands of raffia and cut them to the desired length. Fold them in half by half and take the end of the loop obtained to pass it under the metal circle. Do the same with the strands through the loop and tighten them around. Repeat until you dress your entire metal circle. Finally, tighten the loops well. The goal is to completely hide the circle. If necessary, trim the raffia fringes to even them out. Use a nail to hang the set on one of the walls in your bedroom.
Raffia decoration for a successful scandicraft interior

The Scandinavian style is reinvented to give way to the scandicraft trend. Even more welcoming and refined, the new Nordic style allows all the fantasies to warm and brighten up the interior decoration, whatever the season. More textures, more colors and more plant fibers for a most inviting summer atmosphere. And if light and pastel shades remain safe values for adopting this theme, bright and intense colors are also welcome. We therefore focus on shades such as olive green, azure blue, camel, taupe, honey and terracota, which we combine with raffia, rattan and wicker.

Anyway, if you fall for resolutely natural interiors, it's time to opt for raffia decor. Two-three baskets placed on the ground or suspended from hooks, embroidered cushions, a woven suspension above the dining table or large rugs, each little touch of raffia offers a different and more friendly atmosphere. The major advantage of this vegetable fiber is that it goes well with all styles. All you have to do is take a quick tour of the stores, flea markets and garage sales to find the raffia object you need to transform your home.
