A pretty Christmas pine cone man who will bring the festive spirit to your home

As we have already mentioned in our article Christmas decoration trends 2020, this year, we will not spend money on new decoration pieces. We will opt for ecological ornaments with recoverable materials. In addition, they become sentimental objects that you can give to your loved ones for the holidays. You can't deny that there is always something special about DIY gifts. So, let's get started with a Christmas DIY that will transform your home into Santa's workshop.
Pine cone snowman pendant

Here is the list of the products you need to make these small decorations:
- Cones
- White acrylic paint
- Brush
- Styrofoam ball (4 cm in diameter)
- Bamboo skewer
- Chenille yarn (red, brown and white)
- Red Pom Poms
- Red ribbon
- A sheet of black cardboard
- Metal rope
- Marker (black and orange)
- Scissors
- Glue gun
Instructions:
1. Paint the pine cones with white acrylic paint and let it dry.
2. Using an orange marker, color about 3 cm from the pointed end of the skewer and then cut it with the scissors. Put the skewer in the middle of the styrofoam ball just like a carrot nose. She must pierce the bullet.
3. Use the black marker to draw the face on the styrofoam ball.

4. Cut a piece of string about 30 cm long. Tie the two ends together to make a knot. Drill a hole of about 2.5 cm in the top of the white ball and using the hot glue glue the string in it. Help yourself with the rest of the cut skewer. Make sure the string is pushed into the hole enough to secure it, as this is how we're going to hang the snowman.
5. Fold a red chenille thread around the top of the snowman's head. Place one end where the “ear” would be and use your fingers to mark where the other “ear” would be. Remove the thread, cut it and then add a little hot glue to both ends to secure it around the head. Decorate the accessory with two red pompoms to make pretty earmuffs.

6. Now you are ready to glue the head of your Christmas decoration to the top of the painted pine cone. Make sure there is enough glue to hold it. Don't worry if the glue comes out from under the head and is visible. We are going to cover it with a scarf.
7. Cut a piece of ribbon 20 cm in length. Center the ribbon on the back of the snowman's head, then wrap it by crossing the two ends under the “chin”.
8. Cut two pieces of the brown chenille yarn to form the arms of the snowman and glue them to each side of the pine cone.
Snowman with a black hat

If you want, you can make a hat instead of the earmuffs. To do this, use the template below which you can print on black cardboard or trace it. Cut and glue the three elements together. Don't forget to drill a small hole in the middle of the small circle to put a string in it as shown in the photo above. You can decorate the hat with a little glitter or a ribbon. Small pieces of an old garland are also a good idea. Experiment at will!
