Tea is a great drink, the most consumed in the world after water, which helps relieve all kinds of ailments, digestive problems, stress, as well as reduce body weight. Just drinking a cup of tea a day has been shown to improve health and quality of life.
Indeed, nature gives us an endless list of organic medicines such as essential oils and herbal teas are a good base for making mixtures. We obtain a wealth of antioxidant polyphenols capable of fighting against toxins, chemical attacks and cell aging. Does hot water change the constituents of essential oils?
It is true that when you add heat to something, you change its chemical constituents. But this does not in any way mean that the constituents are dangerous or harmful. Interestingly, some studies show that the components of essential oils change less than their corresponding herbs on contact with hot food or drinks. For example, we season our dishes with herbs like basil, oregano and thyme and never worry about their dangerousness after cooking. Let's apply the same logic to essential oils.
Above all, however, it is very important to verify that the oils you want to use in your tea are suitable for internal use and that you can take them orally. Reality, not all essential oils can be swallowed. So be careful and read product labels.
How to prepare tea with essential oils?

First, the water should not be boiling so as not to denature the essential oils. Then, given that the latter are fat-soluble and not water-soluble, we have to find the right way to incorporate them into the herbal tea; being lighter than hot water, they need to be introduced using a support.
Method 1
Pour 1-2 drops of oil on a piece of cane sugar or mix them with a spoon of honey using the tip of your knife.
Method 2
Take your tea bag and pour 1-2 drops of essential oil on it. Wait a minute for it to soak up and put the sachet in your cup. Pour in hot but not boiling water. Ideally, the infusion should rest a little longer than usual (4 minutes) to allow time for the tannins to come out.
If you use this type of technique, know that it is good to bet on orange or lemon oil for the best results. The flowers (lavender, pink geranium) are too pronounced, one drop per cup gives a very strong beverage that cannot be drunk.
Method 3
We pour the essential oil (s) at the bottom of a jar or any other glass container. We put on top 25 g of loose tea. We close. Shake vigorously for a minute. When it comes to oilseeds, choose from the listed below for best results:
