The most beautiful Christmas candle holder ideas made from a glass jar

Glass jars have come a long way from simple food storage - they have become a staple for different DIY Christmas projects, including special candle holders for the holiday season.
Inside, twinkling lanterns act as focal points arranged on window sills, the fireplace mantel or the coffee table. They are also ideal to put on wall storage, in the corners of the room or next to the decorated Christmas tree. The best thing about candle holders in jars is that the transparent glass gives you the possibility to fill the interior with various objects and create a beautiful decorative effect. For example, tree balls of various sizes and colors, small cardboard boxes wrapped as gifts, pine cones and twigs, artificial snow, string lights can be used.
The arrangement of a Christmas candle holder can even tell a story. Cover the bottom with cotton, crushed polystyrene or white beads. Place a Christmas tree or Santa Claus candle, a house figurine, and a toy car in front of it. Add a few sprigs of greenery or poinsettia flowers as well.
Make frosted Christmas candle holders with glass jars

Materials
- glass jars with engraved snowflake (order online) *
- decoupage glue
- foam brush
- Epsom salts - 1/2 cup for 4 jars
- 6cm circle cut vinyl stickers
- decorative sand for filling (optional)
- small candles
- 1 cm wide black ribbon
- greenery with small berries
- hot glue sticks
- hot glue gun
* If you cannot provide this model of jars, replace with another according to your preferences!

Instructions
1. This first part of the project would be super fun to do with your older children. Take your glass jars, decoupage glue, foam brush, stickers, and Epsom salts. Before you start your work, protect the surface and prepare yourself some type of container large enough to hold a pot and a large spoon. Half-fill your container with Epsom salts.
2. Place your sticker on the jar snowflake to protect this area from decoupage glue and Epsom salts and create a nice, clean line for the circular window of your Christmas candle holder.
3. So, make a circle around the snowflake with your foam brush. Your lines don't need to be perfect. Cover your pot to below the rim with decoupage glue. Do not place glue on the bottom of the jar or on the lid.
4. Using your large spoon, carefully cover the jar with Epsom salts. Be careful not to touch the glue covered surface otherwise it will result in an uneven covering of "snow" on the jar. Follow the same procedure for the other jars. Leave to dry overnight.
5. The next day, carefully remove the self-adhesive vinyl. You can use a toothpick or tweezers to make removal easier. Also, it might be helpful to wear eye protection as Epsom salt tends to steal at this point in the process. Also be careful not to swallow small particles!

6. You are now ready to decorate your pots. Turn on the hot glue gun and prepare your ribbon and winter greenery. Hot glue the greenery just above the throat of the pot. Also secure the lower part of the greenery to the glass by creating a pretty frame around one side of the window of the Christmas candle holder.
7. Next, tie the ribbon around the top of the pot, covering the hot glued part of the greenery and making a small knot. After that, cut the ends in the shape of a swallowtail.
8. Fill the bottom of the pot with 1/4 cup of Epsom salt or decorative colored sand. After placing a small candle in the jar, light! You are already ready to inaugurate Hygge winter nights!

Decorative idea Christmas candle holder to make from a glass jar - tutorial

Materials
- empty glass jar
- white chalk paint
- napkin with a pattern to decorate
- Mod Podge glue
- snow effect relief paste
- craft glue
- fine sandpaper
- plastic film
- white glitter
- transparent varnish

Instructions
1. First, apply white chalk paint to the glass jar and let it dry well.
2. After the paint has dried, cut out your favorite towel design. Separate the towel and use only the top layer. Glue the pattern on the pot. Then use a piece of cling film and more Mod Podge glue to cover the area with the decorative pattern. Smooth out wrinkles. Then, as soon as you are happy with the result, apply a new layer of glue on top. Repeat the same step on the back of the jar and let dry.
3. When dry, sand the surface with fine sandpaper just to remove blemishes or small wrinkles.

4. Indeed, the Christmas candle holder is very pretty even without further improvements but if you want to give it some texture, use white relief paste to imitate the snow fallen on the throat of the glass jar.
5. The fake snow dried, apply glue and sprinkle white glitter on it. After drying, spray with clear varnish to seal everything.
Decorate a glass jar to create a snowman Christmas candle holder

Materials
- fake snow
- mason jar
- big red pompoms
- red and white pipe cleaners
- black buttons
- self-hardening orange clay
- craft glue
- hot glue gun
- sponge brush
- protective varnish for sealing

Instructions
1. Start by making a pretty snowman face. For this purpose, shape a nose in the shape of a carrot with dried orange clay. Use the glue gun to attach the nose and two black buttons to the front of your eye pot.
2. So it's time to make some snow! Using a sponge brush, apply a THICK coat of glue to the outside of the jar. Then sprinkle a layer of fake snow on top. If necessary, tap with your fingers to facilitate adhesion. Let dry and proceed to making the earmuffs.
3. To make pretty earmuffs, cut a red pipe cleaner and a white pipe cleaner in half and twist two pieces together to make a cane pattern. Mold into a "U" shape that matches the width of the glass jar lid.
4. Using your glue gun, glue each end of the twisted pipe cleaner and the two large red pom poms to the outer edge of the mason jar lid. Next, place your decorated lid on top of the jar.
5. Finally, add a battery operated candle to make your Christmas tealight shine.
DIY Christmas candle jar - tutorial

Materials
- glass pot
- decorative card stock
- scissors
- glue gun
- gold acrylic paint
- paint brushes
- cutter
- a black pen or marker (to highlight the stars)
- small sprigs of greenery
- jute twine
- small pine cone
- fake cranberries
- small christmas tree ornaments
- other little Christmas embellishments
- candles

Instructions
1. First, measure the height of your pot to determine the width of the piece of card stock you need to cut out. The decorative paper should "dress" the entire surface of the jar like a cylinder.
2. Then use your craft knife to cut small stars out of the paper.
3. Paint your jar with gold acrylic paint. The main idea is not to completely cover the glass, but rather to give it a nice translucent metallic look. Besides, you can also add a little gold paint to the paper, just apply it here and there using a brush for more accentuated metallic highlights.
4. Then put a piece of paper under your decorative paper and using a black marker or pen, trace the shape of each star creating a black border. Leave to dry.

5. Once the paint has dried, apply dots of hot glue to the entire surface of the jar and carefully wrap the sheet of paper around it. Press lightly with your fingers to secure.
6. Next, wrap some jute twine around the throat of the jar, tie a knot and use the hot glue gun to add greenery and small fir balls above this knot. Also, if you want, you can pre-paint the decorations with gold paint. Your DIY Christmas decoration with a glass jar is ready to beautify your home!
